Our Approach

Our approach in all of the above applications of our services is facilitative. We bring forth committed action from our workshop attendees that enables organizations to realize measurable results well beyond ‘business as usual’. In doing so we assume most of our clients will realize their intentions/goals sooner or later. Our process enables them to achieve extraordinary results sooner, rather than later, with and through existing resources. We bring ‘velocity’ to the game.

In doing so we assume that you and your team know more about your business, your environment and its opportunities than any third party or ‘expert’. Our workshops enable teams to define a ‘game’ that they are committed to and truly own.

Our workshops and programs are designed with you, senior management and your managers by and through preliminary individual interviews and often survey assessments. Our services are conducted ‘with you’, not ‘to you’.

Key Assumptions

  • We assume that a key determinant of any organization’s success is the ability of its management team(s) to function as a true “High Performance Team”. This, in turn, is predicated on their individual and collective commitment to a common purpose that is powerful, compelling and brings forth action -- not just good intentions.
  • Our workshops and programs start by letting teams ‘let go’ of past ‘baggage’ and assessments, and engage openly and directly in creating a clear, powerful future. By acknowledging this ‘baggage’, but not letting it limit them, we find teams are freed to create and consider breakthrough possibilities.
  • We don’t stop just with defining an extraordinary future. We go on to back up this common purpose with individual and collective commitments to action that, when executed, will produce results consistent with their common purpose. The result? Your team leaves the workshop in action and not just with good intentions.

From this they develop goals and action plans that bring forth the true cutting edge capabilities of your entire management team.
  • Organization change/culture shift: These transformative programs work with multiple management and cross functional teams within your organization to effect a sustainable shift in organization performance. The challenge? Effecting measurable change sooner, rather than later, with and through existing organization resources throughout your entire organization.
  • New product/service development: The key to successful new product or service development is time. Those organizations who get there with velocity stand a good chance of succeeding, winning and prevailing. Our workshops enable teams to get there faster without working harder, longer or more expensively but rather by working collaboratively.
  • Intra-organizational team building: Applications here have included facilitating partnerships; mergers/acquisitions; and associations. The common denominator to these activities is enabling collaborative results based on individual commitments that go beyond formal contractual requirements or traditional expectations.
  • Annual management retreats & offsites: VCG has participated in facilitating all or part of management retreats involving boards, executive management teams, or functional departments. Our workshops can be of one half day; full day; or, multiple day duration to integrate into your overall retreat schedule.
